Should I Upgrade to a RoboBrew Generation 3?

The RoboBrew is designed for brewing 30L batches, with a total capacity of slightly higher. Here we give you the run-down of its total dimensions – a useful set of numbers to have handy if you’re planning modifications.
This gives the boiler a total capacity of about 33.5L, near enough to the 35L capacity advertised on the machine. This gives us two basic figures to help measure out liquid volumes:
1cm = 0.706L
1L = 1.41cm
The ball valve is located 50mm from the base of the boiler, leaving approximately 3.5 litres of dead space.
The ‘MAX’ line is found 42cm from the base; the volume at this point is 29.6L.
The malt pipe is a simple single-piece pot with a perforated base and carry handle.
This gives the malt pipe a total capacity of about 21.3L. The recommendation given by Keg King is to use a maximum of 8kg of grain.
The malt pipe’s 25mm legs are attached to the perforated base, giving a total of 16mm clearance between the bottom edge of the malt pipe and the floor of the boiler.
