Should I Upgrade to a RoboBrew Generation 3?

A good, strong, rolling wort boil is an important aspect of any brew. Homebrewers have put the RoboBrew to the test and here is what they found.
This video certainly makes it clear that the RoboBrew is more than capable of delivering a clear, strong boil. Note that both the 1900W and 500W heating elements are switched on in this example.

If you are struggling to achieve a good, rolling boil it’s important not to resort to using a lid. Aside from potentially causing a mess from overflow, it prevents nasty compounds like DMS from escaping.
It’s always a good idea to use a power socket close to your main power board and to avoid using an extension cord. The further away you are from the source, the less power you’ll be able to draw.
You can also insulate the sides of the RoboBrew, similar to the Braumeister optional jacket. Make sure it’s able to withstand 100 degree temperatures and easy to remove for cleaning!
